Video: “Tax Day Tea Party 2010”

For your viewing pleasure (well, maybe not “pleasure” exactly – lol), here’s the latest “Tea Party” video from New Left Media.

On Thursday, April 15, Tea Partiers from around the country gathered in the nation’s capital to protest what they percieved to be egregious increases in taxation under the Obama administration, despite taxes having actually been lowered for 98% of working Americans.

The usual nativist rhetoric and and praise of Fox News personalities ensued.

This NEW LEFT MEDIA film was produced and edited by Chase Whiteside (interviewer) and Erick Stoll (camera operator) with additional camera work from Kasey Hosp.

P.S. In related news, it looks like the Tea Party movement constitutes “a Greater Threat to Republicans Than to Democrats.” What a shame.

Yes, 98% got tax cuts.  The top 20% of earners got 56.9% of that tax cuts.  Just like Bush, 0bama is giving tax cuts to the rich.

I was not surprised when the demographic makeup of an “average” Tea Pot was recently published:

89 percent white, 59 percent male, 75 percent over 50, and 73 percent calling themselves conservative or libertarian.

Thus, they are the far right base of the Republican party. They are a threat to any poor moderate Republicans who are left standing after the purges that have taken place since the Gingrich years.

Unfortunately, our democratic governance is weaker because the truly conservative viewpoint has been lost in the off-the-right-wing rhetoric of these people who act like refugees from Alice’s Tea Party.

Where were these people when the Bush administration made a deal with A T & T and others to snoop on the calls and emails of every American? Where were they when Bush used national security as a cover for a massive increase in executive power?
