private road thing.  isn’t a toll and a fee a tax?

Why does it matter if you are paying it in a tax spread across the commonwealth or a fee to a private industry.

It is still a XX amount to build and maintain roads.

Why doesn’t VA just handle it – collect the fee the same as a private industry.

    Just stupid.

Republicans oppose tax increases; increases in fees, particularly user fees, when they are enacted by

    Republicans — are OK.

the private sector will not build road projects unless there is a guarantee that they will reap large profits; under the current economic situatiion there is no money available for investing in costly road projects!
