President Obama on Senate Approval of Tax Compromise

    With the Senate’s overwhelming vote of support for President Obama’s tax deal, it looks like it’s going to become law unless the House of Representatives stops it. However, given that 7 in 10 Americans support the deal, I strongly doubt the House will do so.  Meanwhile, the deal is being larded up with all kinds of stuff, from the good (wind and solar) to the ugly (subsidies for corn-based ethanol, one of the stupidest ideas ever). Once again, the “making of sausage” continues in Washington, despite the “Tea Party” and tirades against “earmarks” and “pork” and everything else. The more things change…
