Alexandria – Former Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor Jody Wagner today officially endorsed Libby Garvey as her choice to replace Sen. Patsy Ticer in the Virginia Senate’s 30th District. “Libby Garvey’s vision, courage and experience will serve Virginia well in the Senate,” Wagner said. “She has been a true trailblazer on education issues around the state.”
Libby Garvey currently serves as the Chair of the Arlington County School Board. She announced her intention to run for the Virginia Senate in the 30th District in February following current 30th District Senator Patsy Ticer’s retirement announcement. Garvey has been recently endorsed by Sen. Ticer, Fairfax County Supervisor Gerry Hyland, and former Virginia Attorney General Mary Sue Terry, among others.
In addition to her endorsement, Jody Wagner will also serve as the Chairwoman of the Libby Garvey for Senate Finance Committee. “I’m so grateful for Jody Wagner’s support,” Garvey said. “I look forward to working with her and other business leaders around the state on behalf of the residents of the 30th District.”
