Here are some Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Friday, July 29. Also, I’ve got some video (see here and on the “flip”) from last night’s Democratic candidates debate in Arlington (31st State Senate district, 49th House of Delegates district).

    Barbara Favola comments that we’re 99% alike in terms of our DNA. Actually, according to this, “we are all 99.9 percent the same, DNA-wise. (By contrast, we are only about 99 percent the same as our closest relatives, chimpanzees.)”

    A couple of points:

    1. Once again, Favola says she’s part of a group of “Supervisors.” In fact, she is NOT a “Supervisor,” but a member of the Arlington County Board.

    2. I’m not sure she really answered the question, but watch the video and decide for yourself (including whether you agree that there’s a “formula” to doing this, as Favola asserts).
