In response to the Senate’s passage of middle-class tax relief, Congressional Challenger General John Douglass’s Campaign issued the following statement from spokesman Chase Winder:

“Corporate Congressman Robert Hurt should call on Eric Cantor and the rest of his Washington allies in the House to stop holding tax relief for most Virginia families and local businesses hostage for the sake of more deficit-funded tax subsidies for millionaires and billionaires that are bankrupting our future. As our Representative in Congress, General John Douglass will call on those who have benefited the most from America’s economic growth to help invest in lasting policies that lower the cost of college, reward hiring and training and protect Medicare benefits for all.”

Gen. John Douglass is running for Congress in the 5th District to help Virginia families get a fair chance at a better future after serving our country on President Reagan’s National Security Council and then as President Clinton’s Assistant Secretary of the Navy, before going on to promote air and space policies that grow our economy by creating manufacturing jobs and keeping our skies safe.
