According to a new study by the Center for American Progress, “For the nation as a whole, passage of the DREAM Act will add a total of $329 billion to the economy by 2030, support the creation of 1.4 million new jobs, and generate more than $10 billion in increased revenue for the federal government.”

The report also breaks down the impact by state (click on image at right to “embiggen”). It turns out that the positive economic impact on Virginia of passing the DREAM Act would be more than $5 billion by 2030, and about 20,000 jobs. It will also generate $158 million in tax revenues to the Virginia state government. So why do the following people oppose the DREAM Act exactly?

George Allen, Eric Cantor, Randy Forbes, Bob Goodlatte, Morgan Griffith, Robert Hurt, Scott Rigell, Rob Wittman, Frank Wolf

Do these Republicans simply dislike Latinos more than they like economic growth and jobs, or what?
