According to AG Mark Herring’s office: “This morning, the three-judge panel overseeing Virginia’s congressional redistricting process accepted the Commonwealth’s recommendations to appoint an independent special master to assist the court, and to allow non-parties to submit proposed plans for consideration. This will allow for a more inclusive and open process, since interested groups and persons will have an opportunity to provide input. Per the court’s order (which is attached), all plans are due September 18, with comments on the maps due by October 2, 2015.” This should be fun. 🙂
