  • The latest insane rantings from Rep. Dave Brat (R-Koch Brothers). “Pro-revolutionary left?” Saul Alinsky (who I’ve never read, and doubt 99% of Democrats have read or even care about)? Jeremiah Wright? (seriously, we’re back to THAT???) All while ignoring the enormous gorilla in the room — neofascist demagogue and bigoted thug Donald Trump — and the right wing that nurtured the anger and hatred that’s fueling Trump’s rise??? Amazing.

On stage after stage, the pro-revolutionary left has been using Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” as its playbook to divide our country. Now we finally get a statement from our president preaching unity, when over the past eight years his rhetoric more closely matched that used by Alinsky’s followers, including Mr. Obama’s very own preacher Jeremiah Wright, who sought to divide us along race and class lines.

No one is immune from the targeted attacks of the radicalized left. Earlier in the campaign season, even Bernie Sanders had the microphone ripped from his hands by a protester when the candidate’s pandering didn’t go far enough to satisfy the pro-fundamental-transformation-of-this-nation crowd.

As Plato’s Republic taught us 2,400 years ago, the political system which follows a democracy and the loss of values and virtue is the most unpleasant of regimes. If we hope to avoid that outcome, it will be entirely due to the greatness of the American people, and our rejection of those whose ultimate goal is to tear us apart and turn us against one another.

  • McEachin to Announce Run for Congress on March 15

Henrico – Senator A. Donald McEachin (D-Henrico), having turned in his paperwork and petitions, will be announcing his run for Congress tomorrow, Tuesday, March 15.

Senator McEachin gathered over 3000 signatures, three times the required number. He is turning in his petitions on the first day, at the first hour, they can legally be submitted. The outpouring of support that allowed the Senator to have so many valid signatures at such an early date demonstrates a groundswell of support for his candidacy. The campaign has checked the signatures on the voter file and can attest that the vast majority are valid. Senator McEachin will most assuredly be on the ballot for the Democratic nomination.

Tomorrow, March 15, Senator McEachin will be releasing a statement announcing his candidacy and have press availability.

  • From DPVA:

DPVA Calls Upon VA GOP Leaders to Condemn Trump Campaign for Stalin Comparison in Virginian-Pilot

Over the weekend, Trump Regional Director and Virginia Beach resident Gary Byler quoted dictator Joseph Stalin to make a point about winning the Republican nomination in the Virginian-Pilot.

“Like Stalin said, ‘Whoever controls the ballot box wins the election.’”

“We’ve heard a lot of harmful rhetoric from the Trump campaign, but quoting a brutal dictator to make a point about winning the nomination in a Virginia paper is a new low,” said Emily Bolton of the Democratic Party of Virginia. “Virginia Republican leaders must immediately condemn this comparison. We simply cannot allow the Trump campaign to spread more harmful rhetoric into Virginia, and we need Virginia Republicans to step up and denounce it for the good of our Commonwealth.”

The DPVA calls upon the following Virginia Republican leaders to immediately condemn this comparison:

    Republican Party of Virginia Chairman:
    John Whitbeck

    Likely Statewide Candidates:

    Ed Gillespie (Gov.)
    Rep. Rob Wittman (Gov.)
    Ken Cuccinelli (Gov.)
    Del. Glenn Davis (Lt. Gov)
State Sen. Bryce Reeves (Lt. Gov)
State Sen. Jill Vogel (Lt. Gov)
    Del. Rob Bell (AG)
    John Adams (AG)

    Congressional Delegation Running for Election:
Congressman Randy Forbes (Running for VA-02)
    Congresswoman Barbara Comstock
    Congressman Dave Brat
    Congressman Morgan Griffith
