Interesting thoughts by Robert Reich. My question: if Trump really has committed three possible federal offenses, why isn’t he being investigated and potentially prosecuted for them???

At his rally last night in San Diego, Trump called one of California’s federal judges, Gonzalo Curiel, who is hearing a class-action lawsuit against Trump University, “a hater of Donald Trump” and “very hostile” person who had “railroaded” him. He then taunted the judge, who has scheduled a trial for late November, “I’ll be seeing you in November, either as president…” Trump said, trailing off. “I think Judge Curiel should be ashamed of himself. I think it’s a disgrace that he’s doing this.” Trump then brought up Curiel’s ethnicity: “The judge, who happens to be, we believe, Mexican.”

Three possible federal offenses here: seeking to intimidate a federal judge, inciting racial violence, and using one’s candidacy for personal gain.

The biggest sadness is the silence of Republican leaders. They’ve stopped criticizing Trump and have begun falling in line behind him. Where is their love for this country? Where are their principles? If only Democrats criticize Trump’s lies, bigotry, and attempted intimidation of judges and others, the criticism looks partisan and political. Republicans must stand up for the values we all share as Americans, or endanger them.

    What do you think?
