Re “The Real Reason” article in Newsweek,I found it interesting that Huma attempted to compartmentalize her emails according to the various roles she had. That seems to be what conventional wisdom says one should do. Her efforts to do that broke down, in part because Clinton insisted on reading her emails on paper, and some of Huma’s email accounts had much better printing capability than others, so she would transfer emails from one account to another to be able to print them. So one lesson is that such compartmentalization isn’t practical when some accounts simply are much more functional than others.

Of course, none of Huma’s accounts identified in the article was supposed to have any classified information, nor do we even know if the FBI found any or will find any.

Yet, if none of the emails were sent by Clinton or to Clinton, it is difficult to see how any of them could show Clinton mishandling classified information.

So, we’ve been treated to another “nothingburger”, another phoney Clinton scandal.

In Trump’s over the top response, we have more confirmation that he lacks the ethics, judgment and temperament needed for the office.

Lastly, in the context of all that is going on in the world of computer security, the fixation on Clinton’s emails, and by extension on her staff’s emails, seems weirdly disconnected from reality. It would be like investigating a case of littering in the forest, when there is a forest fire raging all around you, and not even caring about the forest fire. The reality is that we have a real crisis going on in computer security. What are we going to do about it? Crucifying Huma isn’t part of the answer.

    Re: Misleading Impression –

“There is a significant risk of being misunderstood,” Comey told the bureau employees in the communication, explaining why he was so vague in his letter to Congress. “It would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record. At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression.”

“Unfortunately, by trying to have things both ways – revealing the change in circumstances while remaining vague about what the agents know – Comey has created that misleading impression that could change the outcome of a presidential election, an act that, if uncorrected, will undoubtedly go down as one of the darkest moments in the bureau’s history.” (Newsweek)

Might we ask if the FBI is going to announce another cryptic message in the next few days about the investigation into Trump campaign and Russian connections, initiated by Democrats after the Republicans refused to launch any investigation? Both sides. . .

“Comey insisted the Clinton investigation was an “extraordinary” case, and that considering the high-profile nature of the investigation, it was important that the FBI be more transparent than usual.”

“Nadler wondered why the same wasn’t true for the Republican nominee for president. “It is a dangerous violation of federal law if Donald Trump’s adviser Carter Page is engaging in freelance negotiations with Russia,” Nadler said.”

“Referring to his Republican colleagues, Nadler said, “I assume we all agree the allegations are very serious.” It’s not clear that they do.”

I’m still waiting with baited breath to find out results from Trump’s Nov. 28 court date about fraudulent Trump University. The investigations into the Trump Foundation continue as well; how long will it be before we find out how his “pay for play” with Bondi turns out?

Also, are there active investigations into the years-ago rape of that 13 year-old? How many more women will come forward with credible allegations of sexual assault in the next ten days?

    Inquiring minds want to know!
