According to the Gene Rossi for Virginia Lt. Governor campaign, they will be targeting likely Democratic primary voters across the Commonwealth with their new video ad (see below). Their ad buy is slated to start at the end of this week.
In short, this is mostly a “soft bio” profile video which introduces Rossi to likely Democratic voters, and also mentions some of the key things he wants to do as LG:
“I’m going to use the position of Lt. Governor to be a bully pulpit and to be a passionate advocate to protect people. I want to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves.”
I’ll be interested to see how widely the Rossi campaign (and the other two Democratic Lt. Governor campaigns as well) is able to spread his message in the final three weeks. Will any of the Democratic LG candidates go on TV, whether broadcast or cable? Or will they stick mostly to social/digital? Will any of them do direct mail? If not, given the minimal coverage this race has received in the corporate media, how will voters know who to vote for on June 13?
With that, here’s Gene Rossi’s video, which I think is very well done.
