From the Northam campaign:

New Video Highlights The Key Moment From Last Night’s Debate

Virginians Deserve A Governor Who Shows Up For Virginians, Not Profit At Any Cost

Richmond, Va. — Following last night’s debate, the Northam for Governor campaign released a new video highlighting the key moment from final contest between Dr. Ralph Northam and Ed Gillespie — the moment when Gillespie admits he was a champion for Enron, private student loan lenders, companies that laid off Virginians and climate change deniers.

As an Army doctor, volunteer medical director at a children’s hospice center and pediatric neurologist, Ralph’s entire life has been committed to public service.

Virginia deserves a governor who puts Virginians first, not profit at any cost.

Ralph Northam: I’ve been showing up and serving the commonwealth of Virginia.

You’ve been a K Street lobbyist in Washington.

The only time you have shown up is when you get paid, so there’s a big difference between the two of us.

Ed Gillespie: I did show up for my clients, and was effective on their behalf

  • Good news from the Northam campaign:

SATURDAY: Vice President Joe Biden to Campaign in Virginia with Ralph Northam

Vice President Biden and Ralph Northam To Host Workforce Development Roundtable In Reston

Today, the Northam for Governor campaign announced Vice President Joe Biden will campaign with Ralph Northam on Saturday. Vice President Biden and Dr. Northam will host a workforce development roundtable in Reston.

In Reston, Ralph and the Vice President will discuss Ralph’s G3 plan — Get Skilled, Get A Job and Give Back — to develop a skilled workforce to fill the essential, well-paying new collar jobs of the 21st century in cybersecurity, computer programming, clean energy, healthcare and other high needs areas.

  • DNC Responds to Ed Gillespie’s Proud History of Lobbying Against Virginia Families

At last night’s final Virginia governor’s race debate, Ralph Northam highlighted Ed Gillespie’s history of only showing up for his K Street lobbying clients, which Gillespie confirmed when he said, “I did show up for my clients, and was effective on their behalf.” DNC spokesperson Elizabeth Renda issued the following statement in response:

“After last night’s debate, it’s clearer than ever that Ed Gillespie isn’t running for governor to fight for Virginia’s families. He is running to continue his long career as a D.C. lobbyist and angling for his biggest promotion yet – serving as Donald Trump’s top lobbyist in Virginia. Gillespie admitted that he is proud of his career lobbying for companies like Enron, private student loan lenders, Wall Street banks, and climate change deniers at the expense of Virginia’s hard-working families. Virginians deserve a governor who shows up for them, not someone who wants a profit at any cost. As an Army doctor, a pediatric neurologist, and a public servant, Ralph Northam has dedicated his entire life to the service of others, and as the state’s governor, Virginians will never have to question where his allegiance truly lies.”
