The following is from 2017 Democratic LG candidate Gene Rossi. I’m seriously leaning towards joining him in endorsing Abigail Spanberger, who I find to be super impressive…

Dear Friends:

I am very proud to express my strong support for Abigail Spanberger, who is a phenomenal Democratic primary candidate in Virginia’s Seventh Congressional District. Her eventual opponent is an icon of the Tea Party: Congressman Dave “Women-are-in-my-Grill” Brat. The pundits and “Time” Magazine have rightly placed this race in the Top Ten nationally. I would go further. I cannot think of a more important House race than this one. And I cannot think of a candidate more qualified to defeat Congressman Brat. In fact, Abigail’s two outstanding opponents would also give Mr. Brat a run for his money. When Mr. Brat is defeated, we will indeed have an electoral Tidal Wave of historic proportions.

I endorse Abigail because of her heart, her grace, her intelligence, her passion, and her many years of public service to our county—as a CIA operations officer and a federal agent. She has what it takes to turn the Seventh blue. And her victory will send an incredible message to the nation that healthcare, national security, climate change, education, and many other important issues of the day will receive top priority in the new Congress.

So I ask a favor. Please join me on Friday, March 30, 2018 (6:30-8:30 PM), in Alexandria, Virginia, at the Port City Brewing Company. I will be chairing an event for Abigail and hope you can come as a guest. I would be honored if you joined me as a host. If you cannot attend, please consider a contribution to her noble cause by using the link on the attached invitation. I hope to see you on the 30th.
