Video: Neo-Confederate Corey’s Bizarre, Bat****-Crazy MSNBC Interview Illustrates Exactly Why We Need Tim Kaine to Win In a Landslide This November!

How many false, bizarre, offensive and/or bat****-crazy statements can neo-Confederate Corey Stewart make in 10 minutes? A great many, based on his interview with MSNBC’s “Kasie DC” last night. Follow me below the video for just a few prime examples of neo-Confederate Corey’s latest lunacy.

  • First, in possibly his least-crazy comment, Corey claims that national Republicans are mad because he “beat their guy” (Nick Freitas) but that they will “come around.” We’ll see…
  • Second, Corey tries to dance away from the fact that he’s embraced neo-Confederates, white supremacists, anti-immigrant extremists, etc. for years now. According to Corey, he simply “did not know” that Jason Kessler – the organizer of the Charlottesville “United the Right” white supremacist rally – was…well, this guy. (note: Corey has previously claimed that “Nobody knew who Kessler was back then.”  According to Corey, “you meet all kinds of people in politics.” Sure, but when you find out, you SHOULD unequivocally condemn the white supremacist. In Corey’s case, according to this NY Times fact check, he “denounced other Republicans for apologizing and condemning the violence, saying they were playing into liberals’ hands.” Also, as the Washington Post reported at the time, “Virginia politicians of all stripes condemn white nationalists — except one” (that would be Corey Stewart). And, the WaPo added at the time, “Stewart has made several joint appearances with Jason Kessler, organizer of the ‘Unite the Right’ rally that sparked the unrest in Charlottesville,” and also “attended a Charlottesville news conference with Kessler and Isaac Smith, founders of Unity and Security for America (USA), a fledgling group that calls for ‘defending Western Civilization.'” So yeah, it’s pretty hard to believe that Corey had no clue who these guys were (he said in the MSNBC interview that he doesn’t “do a background check” on people), when he appeared with them over and over again. In short, Corey is a liar.
  • As for Corey’s ties to “outspoken anti-Semite” Paul Nehlen, the NY Times fact check found that Corey “called Mr. Nehlen ‘one of my personal heroes’ and said he was ‘so honored’ to have Mr. Nehlen’s endorsement. And in a June 2017 campaign finance filing reported by CNN, [Corey] disclosed a $759 payment to Mr. Nehlen, described as a ‘fund-raising commission.'” In short, Corey is full of crap when he claims he didn’t know who Nehlen was or what he stood for.
  • On separating children from families at the border, Corey absurdly lies, then spews out hard-right talking points about immigrants: 1) “I don’t think Trump IS separating [children at the border]” (LIE); and 2) that if we don’t “enforce the law” we will have “another humanitarian crisis at the border like we did a few years ago…we have to send a signal to everybody else south of the border…yes, your children will be temporarily separated from you.” Corey then states, point blank, that it’s “absolutely” more important to enforce a hard-line, extreme policy at the border is more important than these children. According to Corey, “It sounds terrible…but we’re in a very tough position…you have to enforce the law, otherwise, you’re going to have a lot more people coming across the border.” No, it doesn’t just SOUND terrible to tear children out of their parents’ arms and hold them in cages; it IS terrible! Ugh.
  • But wait, the interview gets worse, with Corey Stewart defending his horrendous claim that “Tim Kaine hates America.” Challenged to back up that lunacy, Corey flails, first alleging, insanely, that Kaine “does not support anything the president has done.” That’s some real “Dear Leader” shit right there; if you don’t support Trump, you “hate America.” So when Mitch McConnell said his goal was to make sure President Obama failed, and when basically every other Republican went along, did THEY all “hate America?” Hmmm.
  • Then, challenged by Kasie DC on the “Dear Leader” shit, Corey quickly shifts gears, claims that Kaine “thinks only of himself…he’s thinking only of his own left-wing ideology.” This is so absurd it’s hard to know where to start. First of all, what conceivable evidence does Corey have to back up that Kaine “thinks only of himself?” Second, speaking of thinking “only of himself,” I guess Corey is going to condemn the Narcissistic Maniac in Chief, Donald Trump? ” Of course not; Trump is “Dear Leader” after all and Corey is a true believer (or at least a pretend true believer – who knows with Corey?). Third, Kaine has a “left-wing ideology?” (that’s a highly dubious claim), and that’s why Kaine supposedly “hates America?” Again, this is totally bizarre shit Corey is spewing.
  • As for Tim Kaine’s accomplishments, he’s had a ton of them over the years – far more than Corey Stewart has had – but of course since Republicans took back Congress in 2014, they’ve blocked pretty much anything/everything Democrats have proposed. Still, Kaine has done a lot; see here, for instance.
  • Corey then spews out nonsense about the economy, giving all credit to “Dear Leader” and none to President Obama and the Democrats (aka, the ones who saved our country from the Great Recession that began under Bush/Cheney).
  • Corey then defends his nasty, beyond-the-pale attacks on Tim Kaine’s family, including a “never-actually-happened,” Photoshopped image of Kaine speaking on the Senate floor, next to a (Photoshopped) image of Kaine’s son with a hammer and sickle added on. I mean…just speechless at how disgusting this is. But instead of profusely apologizing and promising NEVER to attack Tim Kaine’s family again, Corey seems to think it’s funny or something, even attacks Tim Kaine – on FATHER’S DAY no less – for supposed “bad parenting.” Corey also justifies his shameless, appalling attacks on Kaine’s family because supposedly – no evidence whatsoever for this claim, of course – Kaine’s son would be “in jail today” if not for Tim Kaine “get[ting] him off.” Again, there is ZERO evidence for this claim, and when challenged, Corey kinda/sorta admits that, but then continues his attacks.
  • Of course, all of this is exactly what you’d expect from a Trump “mini-me” like Corey Stewart: lie through your teeth, lie some more, get called on your lies, pretend to kinda/sorta acknowledge the lack of basis for your lies before spewing out the same or even more audacious lies. That’s Trumpism to a “t,” of course, and that’s Trump-worshiping Corey Stewart. But one thing it’s most certainly not is anyone we’d EVER want representing us at any level, let alone being in a position of power or authority.  This November, let’s make sure we send a RESOUNDING message of rejection towards Trump and Mini-Trump by reelecting Tim Kaine – the polar opposite of Corey Stewart in every way that matters – in an overwhelming landslide.
