Virginia News Headlines: Saturday Morning

by: lowkell

Sat Apr 07, 2012 at 07:09:17 AM EDT

Here are a few Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Saturday, April 7. Also, check out President Obama's Easter and Passover greetings (can't wait to hear Republicans criticize him for being...what? too religious? not religious enough? having only one American flag in the video? wearing a dark suit?)

*No confirmed fatalities in fiery Hornet crash hailed as miraculous
*Detailed view of jet-crash scene
*The facts vs. Mitt Romney ("Playing fast-and-loose with the truth discredits his leadership.")
*Colgan (D-Pr. William) explains why he gave GOP critical vote on budget
*Virginia Budget Proposal Jeopardizes the Dulles Metrorail Project
*Eric Cantor donation roils House GOP ("House Majority Leader Eric Cantor went into damage control mode Friday following the revelation that he contributed $25,000 to a super PAC devoted to defeating incumbent House members - including numerous Republicans.")
*Va. approves six virtual school providers
*McDonnell offered millions for Metro, but offer disappeared, senator says
*Lessons from Marion Barry's anti-Asian comments (Del. Mark Keam weighs in.)
*McDonnell signs off on property rights referendum
*Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to name former deputy as top executive next week, document says
*Arlington launches homeless housing fundraising

Also, check out these two, very revealing, items:

*National Review Writer Pens Racist Screed: 'Avoid Concentrations Of Blacks,' 'Stay Out Of' Their Neighborhoods (Yes, National Review is a leading "conservative" magazine. And no, this raging racist guy wasn't immediately fired. Will he ever be?)
*Red State's Erick Erickson Defends Augusta's Woman Ban (Yes, Erick Erickson is a leading "conservative" and Republican't. And no, Erickson hasn't been fired by CNN for his misogyny, or for his many other outrageous statements over the years. Apparently, "it's ok if you're a Republican" -- IOKIYAR!)

Audio: Leading Republican Erick Erickson's Misogyny (0.00 / 0)

ERICKSON: Who cares? Who cares that she wasn't invited into the club? She's a woman - women aren't allowed! .... It is striking to me just how political the president wants to make everything. The war on women coming home to The Masters. Who freakin' cares? [...]

I don't care that The Masters are a male-dominated event. I don't care that women aren't members of The Masters. Frankly, I kind of like the idea that women aren't members of The Masters. Good Lord, I don't want to be hanging out at some women's event! Can't men go anywhere and just be men? There are plenty of places where women can be women...You know what Mr. President, why don't you just leave the partisanship out of golf?!

Oh, and as long as CNN employs this @#$@#$ (0.00 / 0)
that "news" network deserves absolutely zero respect or viewership.

Colgan and bad leadership on redistricting (0.00 / 0)
So let's get this straight...instead of recruiting new candidates to run in colgans seat the Democratic Senate caucus did the following

Gerrymander the seat, screwed over the 36 th senate seat for his district, ran an individual that was ready and should of retired.

What did we get for this short sighted crap

A senate seat that was solidly fairfax, mt. Vernon democratic seat, the 36th, now a majority in price William, a Supposed Democratic Senator (Colgan) that screwed over women, one of two democratic senators that said yea to the ultrasound requirements, Thus MAKING IT LAW!  Now he goes against the parties position on the Budget.

The save incumbent mentality in full action, regardless of the value and priorities of the actual Senator!

We can determine this to be an epic fail anyway you slice it

Um, excuse me. (0.00 / 0)
Are you questioning the brilliant, wise, clever, all-knowing Great Leader Dick "Dick" Saslaw? If so...sacrilege!!!  (snark tag off)
