The Stench
Find out how Ken Cuccinelli's not just a tinfoil-hat, John Birch Society-style, extremist wackjob, he's also corrupt, in the The Continuing Chronicle of Ken Cuccinelli's Corruption. It really stinks!

Virginia News Headlines: Saturday Morning

by: lowkell

Sat Oct 20, 2012 at 07:05:58 AM EDT

Here are a few Virginia (and national) news headlines, political and otherwise, for Saturday, October 20. Also, check out President Obama's weekly address, in which he "urges Congress to act to build on the momentum we are seeing in the housing market by helping responsible homeowners refinance, saving $3000 a year."

*Unemployment rate drops in 41 states, including most swing states (More good economic news, in addition to the rebound in the housing market. Looks like we're gaining momentum under President Obama - let's keep it going in 2013 and beyond!)
*Man with ties to Va. GOP is charged with voter registration fraud (Wow, the Washington Post FINALLY decided to cover this story that many others have been all over for days now? And of course they don't mention that NLS broke the story and continues to follow up. Journalistic ethics at the Post? Meh.)
*Too many Mitts (Mitt Romney's home town newspaper, the Salt Lake Tribune, endorses...President Obama for another term!)
*Romney campaign's Benghazi misfire? ("In aftermath of attacks, CIA 'talking points' backed Susan Rice's descriptions, official says.")
*Tea party help for Dems ("Ideological purity keeps the Senate from the GOP.")
*At GMU, Obama says Romney suffers from 'Romnesia'
*Campaigning in Virginia, Obama Presses Fight for Women's Vote
*New Jersey's Christie touts Romney in Henrico
*Kaine gets support from former GOP legislators
*Warner nixes fiscal cliff fundraiser
*Romney shifts campaign personnel to Virginia
*Candidate's wife talks health care in Danville
*Cuccinelli: Va. health commissioner's resignation is political statement (Gotta love it, coming from someone for whom everything is political and/or ideological. What a joke.)
*Kaine, Allen address Hampton Roads Chamber
*In Norfolk, Kaine and Allen clash on spending cuts
*Five candidates square off for Portsmouth council
*Coal, health care dominate 9th District congressional debate
*News 5 Congressional Debate: Morgan Griffith & Anthony Flaccavento (Videos)

P.S. If you need yet another reason to vote AGAINST George "Felix Macacawitz" Allen, how about this endorsement by the extremist, right-wing loony bin rag the Washington Examiner? This paper is rabid, bat**** crazy, a fever swamp of insanity, and they're all for George Allen. Any further questions?

A vote for Armageddon (0.00 / 0)
Considering that Romney is over-loaded with neo-con advisors from the Bush era, considering the drive of evangelicals to create a "greater Israel" so as t hasten the Second Coming of Christ, considering the hyped-up militarism of the Republican Party, and considering the inept bullying and arrogance of Mitt himself, it would seem that a vote for Romney is a vote for Armageddon. Are we ready for that?

Photo: Insane "Obama: Socialist or Fascist" ad at Clarendon Metro station in Arlington, VA (0.00 / 0)

The question is, why can't Metro legally set standards (0.00 / 0)
for advertising in its system? I mean, do they really have to take ANYTHING, including Go to Hell Barack and this trash?  By the way, this says a gazillion times more about the people behind the ad - all of it really, really bad - than it does about Barack Obama. Among other idiocies here, do these morons not realize that "Fascists" despised "Socialists" (and "Communists"), and that the ideologies have essentially nothing in common with each other - let alone with the Democratic Party or Barack Obama? Now, if we really want to talk about "Fascists," how about people like the ones behind this ad look in the mirror?

Strange and Interesting (0.00 / 0)
I occasionally need to ride the Metro. All those who do in the morning are greeted by the guys handing out the Examiner and the Express. It is funny to watch the refusals to take the Examiner; and there are a lot of refusals.  I take one for the laughs.

Mere parsimony is not economy. Expense, and great expense, may be an essential part in true economy.
