4-Star Gen. Wesley Clark Blasts Willard for "rehash of Cold War fears"

I'm 100% with 4-Star General Wesley Clark that Willard "Mitt" Romney's wildly irresponsible for his rhetoric suggesting that Russia is "without question, our No. 1 geopolitical foe."
Surely one lesson of the 21st century is that America's security in the world depends on making more friends and fewer enemies. Governor Romney's statement sounds like a rehash of Cold War fears Given the many challenges we face at home and abroad, the American people deserve a full and complete explanation from Governor Romney. Good policy does not come from bumper sticker slogans. The next president is going to have to take America forward, out of war, and into other challenges. The rekindling of old antagonisms hardly seems the way to do it.
Of course, with foreign policy advisors like John Bolton (a super-hawk and loose cannon. about whom fellow Republican Richard Lugar said, "In the diplomatic world, neither bluntness nor rhetorical sensitivity is a virtue in itself. There are times when blunt talk serves a policy purpose; other times it does not."), Robert Kagan ("co-founder with William Kristol of the Project for the New American Century"), Eric Edelman ("former advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney who serves on the boards of a number of hawkish policy group"), and Robert Joseph ("a senior scholar at the National Institute for Public Policy (NIPP), a think tank that promotes hawkish strategic policies, including on missile defense and nuclear strategy"), is it any surprise that Willard's gone off the deep end too?

Hahahaha (0.00 / 0)
this is quite amusing.
"Regarding ideological cliches, every time this or that side uses phrases like 'enemy number one', this always alarms me, this smells of Hollywood and certain times (of the past)," Medvedev said at the end of a nuclear security summit in the South Korean capital.

"I would recommend all U.S. presidential candidates ... to do two things. First, when phrasing their position one needs to use one's head, one's good reason, which would not do harm to a presidential candidate.

"Also, (one needs to) look at his watch: we are in 2012 and not the mid-1970s."

The continuing power of the neo-cons and (0.00 / 0)
those religionists who based their entire geo-politial views on  Armageddon and Revelations is exemplified in the whole Republican schtick. It is an utterly old-testament,ancient patriarchal life-style, and requires that every  real man have an enemy, and that enemy must always be the devil. That worked okay when humanity was few in numbers, and existence was precarious and Hobbesian. Today, not so much. This is what I just wrote about in "Bullies Rule." I agree with Gen. Clark and Medvedev
