The Stench
Find out how Ken Cuccinelli's not just a tinfoil-hat, John Birch Society-style, extremist wackjob, he's also corrupt, in the The Continuing Chronicle of Ken Cuccinelli's Corruption. It really stinks!

Virginia News Headlines: Sunday Morning

by: lowkell

Here are a few Virginia (and national) news headlines for Sunday, October. 7.

*Obama is saving the economy ("The irony is that, if Romney wins the election and the economy rebounds on his watch, much of the recovery will be due to efforts undertaken during the Obama administration.")
*Jobs report shows an economy on the move ("Friday's employment report gave Mr. Obama a reason to crow.")
*Hitting the campaign trail for husbands' U.S. Senate bids ("The wives of the candidates in the intensely watched Virginia race try to round up votes.")
*DUELING GOVERNORS: Records while leading Va. provide insight in Senate race (Allen's three "accomplishments" as governor were all bad, if you ask me: 1) abolishing parole is counterproductive, ineffective and extremely expensive; 2) cutting off welfare recipients after two years is callous and also counterproductive; and 3) I'm not a fan of "Standards of Learning" at all. Other than that, I disagree with his firings of state workers, calling Democratic leaders "monarchical elitists," urging Republicans to knock Democrats "soft teeth down their whiny throats," etc. Great job George!)
*Kaine, Allen look for friendly ground in Virginia
*Kaine, Allen spend millions on ads in final weeks
*Rep. Paul Broun, High Ranking Member of the House Committee on Science: Evolution, Big Bang Theory 'Lies Straight from the Pit of Hell' (Another example of a bats***-crazy, theocratic wackjob Teapublican. And this freakazoid's actually on the House SCIENCE Committee?!? Yikes.)
*Virginia State Trooper hit by SUV at state fair dies (Tragic.)
*At U-Va., e-mails show faltering efforts at crisis control after Sullivan ouster (Helen Dragas really needs to go.)
*Romney adds rally Monday in Newport News (The Tour de Lies and Flip Flops returns to Virginia. Oh joy!
*Schapiro: Cuccinelli sinks McDonnell's port scheme?
*Editorial: The mayor's big reveal ("Roanoke's mayor airs the council's laundry and soils its record of working toward more-transparent governing.")
*More democracy better for Norfolk
*'There's no mystery with him' ("Davey Johnson's simple, subtle leadership approach has led the Nationals to their first playoff appearance.")
*D.C. area forecast: Suddenly chilly, showery before gradual warming
