Video: Virginia Inaugural Ball Speeches

by: lowkell

Mon Jan 21, 2013 at 00:15:22 AM EST

I'll post a lot more video tomorrow morning. For now, here's Senator Mark Warner's speech to the Virginia Inaugural Ball tonight in Arlington. Other speeches included DPVA Chair Charniele Herring, Rep. Bobby Scott, Rep. Gerry Connolly, Rep. Jim Moran, Senator Tim Kaine, and Terry McAuliffe. The place was packed tonight, by the way, well over 1,000 people...great times.

Looks like the ball was a great party for all.

On another note, Clark Mercer, the new political director of DPVA (and well-known to NoVA Dems), was at our last district Democratic meeting. Wow, was I impressed! The new team will be conducting training for local committees on ways to be more effective and build local strength. That's the prescription we Dems in the red parts of Virginia need.

I have not been shy in criticizing the DPVA in the past, so I want to offer praise for the new team. We don't yet know who the new executive director will be, but the team shaping up so far is really impressing me.
