Governor Tim Kaine Endorses Alfonso Lopez
    Cites Lopez’s Service to Virginia

Former Governor Tim Kaine (D-VA) has endorsed Alfonso Lopez today for the 49th District House of Delegates seat.

“I’ve known Alfonso for many years and had the privilege of working with him during my term as Governor,” said Kaine. “I have seen first-hand his tireless work on behalf of Virginia families and his dedication to making the Commonwealth a better place to live and work. With his unique legislative experience and knowledge of key issues, he’ll be a strong advocate for Northern Virginia in the House of Delegates.”

Throughout the Kaine Administration Lopez served as the Director of the Virginia Liaison Office in Washington, D.C., where he directed and supervised all Congressional and Federal Relations for the Commonwealth. Lopez worked on federal issues ranging from funding for rail to Dulles to pushing for passage of the post 9-11 G.I. Bill to expanding health insurance coverage for Virginia children and mothers through State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

“It is an honor to have the support of Governor Kaine,” said Lopez. “I was proud to have been part of Governor Kaine’s efforts to make Virginia the best managed state in America, best place to do business, and the best place to raise a child. I look forward to fighting for Northern Virginia values in the House of Delegates.”

Alfonso Lopez is a candidate for Virginia House of Delegates in the 49th District. With nearly 20 years of legislative experience at the highest levels in federal and state government and a record of achievement in Northern Virginia, Lopez has dedicated his life to public service and Virginia.
