(I’m planning on attending this, how about you? – promoted by lowkell)

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 6th at 2pm, is our opportunity to tell President Obama to deny the permit for the Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline. Join thousands as we encircle the White House and rally against this dirty, dangerous tar sands oil pipeline. The event meets up at Lafayette Park in front of the White House.

Keystone XL is a 1,700 mile long, $7 billion export pipeline carrying tar sands oil from Alberta Canada to refineries in the Gulf Coast.  Before TransCanada can begin construction, however, the company needs a presidential permit from the Obama administration.

Friends of the Earth has the best website for more information, media clips, fact sheets, etc. on why this project is such a horrendous threat to the planet. And from everything I’ve read so far, President Obama is swayable so this big public pressure is critical.
