TIM KAINE RESPONDS TO ATTACK ADS LAUNCHED BY CROSSROADS GPS TODAY

Richmond, VA  Tim Kaine released the following statement after Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS launched three negative, misleading attack ads this morning:

“Today is a day that all Americans stand united in the memory of those we lost on September 11, 2001 and in the years since.  Their sacrifice reminds us we're not Democrats or Republicans first. We're Americans first.

“Both presidential campaigns rightly suspended negative ads today. It is a sad reflection of the divisiveness of our politics that outside groups like Crossroads GPS cannot set aside false partisan attacks even as our elected officials and citizens of all walks of life, political parties, and religious faiths join together to honor the dead, thank our first responders and service members, and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as a nation.”

Tomorrow, Kaine for Virginia will release fact checks debunking these misleading ads.  Today, please see Governor Kaine's statement on the 11th anniversary of September 11th.
