VA Dems Statement on Virginia Board of Health’s Vote Approving Anti-Women’s Health Regulations

Richmond – Today, the Virginia Board of Health approved proposed regulations that will limit Virginian women’s access to reproductive health care by imposing regulations on women’s health care centers.  Democratic Party of Virginia Chair, Delegate Charniele Herring releases the following statement condemning the vote:

“Today the Board of Health succumbed to Ken Cuccinelli and his extreme allies’ efforts to bully through an open assault on the health of women across this Commonwealth,” said Democratic Party of Virginia Chair, Delegate Charniele Herring.  “Instead of focusing on making Virginians’ lives better, Cuccinelli and the Republicans used their offices to make it harder for women to access essential health care like mammograms. Republicans may have succeeded so far in imposing their extreme ideological agenda on Virginia women, but now it’s time for them to face voters and explain why limiting our access to affordable health care and life-saving diagnostic exams is more important to them than jobs, schools or transportation.”
