This is a strong way for Democratic Congressional candidates to deal with Trump’s continued stream of outrageous, bigoted, vile comments, including his latest “joke” alluding to using gun violence against Hillary Clinton. As Democrat Kai Degner explains, Goodlatte isn’t just his opponent in this race, he represents everyone in the 6th CD, and should be answerable to all of those people. At this point, if you’re a Republican officeholder or candidate and you have NOT denounced Trump and withdrawn your endorsement, then sorry, but you’re complicit in Trump’s hate speech, calls to violence, all of it. And on November 8, voters shouldn’t let you get away with that.
