It’s amazing that in 2017, we have to be fighting for our basic rights as Americans under the constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. Yet here we are, with an authoritarian thug, Donald Trump, as our president, and a Republican Congress that either shares those authoritarian tendencies or is afraid to stand up to the thug. As Rep. Don Beyer (D-8th, VA) explains: “Joined by Gold Star Father Khizr Khan this morning as we introduce my bill, the Freedom of Religion Act, to tell the world that Americans still stand for religious toleration and against President Trump’s.” Thanks to Rep.
