VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Delegate Rocky Holcomb has again failed to condemn a local hate group leader, Scott Presler, who volunteered for his campaign and stated that Holcomb shared his values.
In an article published today by Southside Daily, Holcomb denied knowledge that he knew Presler but did not condemn or disavow the lead activism strategist for ACT for America, which has been identified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Presler organized a hate rally in June in the district that Holcomb represents.
After writing a lengthy Facebook post in which he took great offense to the question: Why does the leader of a hate group say Rocky Holcomb shares his values?, Holcomb admitted that he blocked constituents from his page who called for answers about his affiliation with Presler.
“It is not enough for Rocky Holcomb to denounce hate without calling out those who espouse it by name,” said House Democratic Caucus spokeswoman Katie Baker. “Our ask and the ask of Holcomb’s constituents is simple – either denounce Scott Presler or accept his endorsement.”
