Video: Virginia House Republicans Vote to Continue Allowing Guns in the Galleries Above Them

How terrified are Virginia House of Delegates Republicans of EVER breaking with the gun lobby on ANYTHING? Check out the following exchange and vote, regarding a resolution by Del. Kathleen Murphy (D-Fairfax) to do what most other legislative bodies (including the U.S. Congress) do — bar guns from the galleries during session. You’d think this would be an absolute no brainer, but…nope; Republicans rejected this on a party-line vote (49-48). Listen to the “reasoning” by Republicans Todd Gilbert (the Majority Leader – VERY telling!) and Ben Cline, which is that somehow it’s an imposition on people’s constitutional rights to not be able to bring their firearms into the House of Delegates gallery. Just another reminder why we need Democrat in charge of the House of Delegates at the earliest possible opportunity…
