GREEN NEW DEAL VA LAUNCHES WEBSITE, INTRODUCES CO-CHAIRS, AND 2019 LOBBY DAY
RICHMOND, VA – Delegates Sam Rasoul and Elizabeth Guzman are happy to announce the Green New Deal VA Coalition will be chaired by Karen Campblin, VSC NAACP, and Lee Williams, Sierra Club Virginia Chapter. Additionally, they announce the launch of the Green New Deal website, www.greennewdealva.com, and Lobby Day, January 22nd.
Green New Deal VA has had overwhelming support since its initial launch in December 2018, with 23 partner organizations such as The Sunrise Movement, Virginia Organizing, Virginia Interfaith Power and Light, Poor People’s Campaign Virginia, and CCAN. The coalition shows its diverse commitment to economic, environmental, and social justice issues in Virginia.
The website offers an opportunity for people to follow along during Virginia’s 2019 Legislative Session, and lays out information on how to get involved, and which candidates and legislators are championing the coalition. Green New Deal VA will host their first lobby day here in Richmond on January 22nd.
