From the Joe Biden for President campaign:
Former Virginia Bernie Sanders Co-Chair Elizabeth Guzmán and Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy Endorse Joe Biden
Virginia House of Delegates Member Elizabeth Guzmán, who formerly served as co-chair of Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign in Virginia, and Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy released the following statements endorsing Joe Biden for President:
“I’m proud to join Team Biden, and I invite my supporters to do the same. It’s time for Democrats to stand united and take back the White House. We will work together to ensure we end the disastrous presidency of Donald Trump, restore the soul of this nation, and create an America where diversity is never disrespected. I am proud to stand in solidarity with my party as I endorse Joe Biden for president,” said Delegate Elizabeth Guzmán.
“I’m excited to join arms with Democrats in Virginia behind our nominee for President, Joe Biden. He’s a dedicated public servant – someone I greatly admire – who has fought for working families throughout his career. As President, I know he will remain committed to advancing an agenda that ensures every family in America can thrive. He can lead our country through this moment and the challenges that lie ahead,” said Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy.
“Donald Trump has left everyday Americans behind at every turn. For the last four years, his administration’s policies have prioritized an agenda built on division and hate, attacking women, people of color, immigrant communities, and more. But a grassroots movement of those very people have resisted, reclaiming hundreds of state legislative seats and the U.S. House of Representatives.
“As Democrats, we may have supported different candidates in the primary, but it’s time to focus on our shared goal to get Donald Trump out of the White House. I’m proud to endorse Joe Biden and elect him as our next President of the United States. Virginians — and Americans — can’t wait.”
These endorsements build on the list of Virginia leaders who have previously announced their support for Joe Biden, including former Governor Terry McAuliffe; Senator Tim Kaine; Representatives Jennifer Wexton, Abigail Spanberger, Bobby Scott, Donald McEachin, Elaine Luria, Don Beyer, and Gerry Connolly; as well as other state legislators and local leaders.
Nationally, Biden for President has previously announced more than 2,500 endorsements from national, state, and local leaders, including current and former U.S. senators and representatives, governors, state elected officials, community leaders, and national security professionals.
