So, at this point (1/15), in Virginia we’re at 422,634 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 19,741 hospitalizations and 5,656 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,795 (+1.2%) in the latest statistics, which is a slightly slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 5,294 (+1.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 146 (+0.8%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 125 (+0.6%). Deaths are reported +30, compared to +74 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,730,680 (up 23,966 from yesterday).
