So, at this point (1/11), in Virginia we’re at 403,386 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 19,182 hospitalizations and 5,393 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,530 (+1.1%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 5,141 (+1.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 87 (+0.5%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 70 (+0.4%). Deaths are reported +10, compared to +2 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,621,140 (up 32,988 from yesterday).
