So, at this point (1/28), in Virginia we’re at 493,674 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 21,113 hospitalizations and 6,308 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 5,121 (+1.1%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 5,227 (+1.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 127 (+0.6%), which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 126 (+0.6%). Deaths are reported +80, compared to +54 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,146,985 (up 34,288 from yesterday).
