So, at this point (1/26), in Virginia we’re at 483,326 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 20,860 hospitalizations and 6,174 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,707 (+1.0%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 6,172 (+1.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 96 (+0.6%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 52 (+0.3%). Deaths are reported +93, compared to +3 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,079,311 (up 22,879 from yesterday).
