Friday (2/5) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +5,069 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 521,467), +144 Hospitalizations (to 21,893), +82 Deaths (to 6,732)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (2/5), in Virginia we’re at 521,467 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 21,893 hospitalizations and 6,732 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 5,069 (+1.0%) in the latest statistics, which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,059 (+0.6%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 144 (+0.7%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 111 (+0.5%).  Deaths are reported +82, compared to +75 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,371,049 (up 54,651 from yesterday).
