Sunday (2/7) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +2,949 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 529,125), +67 Hospitalizations (to 22,102), +5 Deaths (to 6,778)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (2/7), in Virginia we’re at 529,125 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 22,102 hospitalizations and 6,778 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,949 (+0.6%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 4,709 (+0.9%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 67 (+0.3%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 142 (+0.7%).  Deaths are reported +5, compared to +41 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,437,773 (up 27,356 from yesterday).
