| MCLEAN, VA — Terry for Virginia launched a new digital ad, “Day One,” which features Governor Ralph Northam speaking on Terry’s strong record of leadership and bold vision for a more equitable Commonwealth as we rebuild from COVID-19. This new digital ad will run on Facebook, YouTube, and Hulu. As Virginia’s next governor, Terry will build on Governor Northam’s strong COVID-19 recovery efforts and will take decisive actions to keep our communities safe, protect our employees, rebuild our thriving network of small businesses and invest in mental health services to further aid Virginians as we rebuild following the unprecedented health and economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
In the digital ad, Governor Northam says, “[Terry] has the experience and vision to lead Virginia into a stronger and more equitable future. How we rebuild from this pandemic will determine the future of our Commonwealth for years to come. With Terry, we can build on our progress and keep moving Virginia forward. Simply put, he will get the job done.”
Terry has the experience to see us through these difficult days. As Virginia’s 72nd governor, Terry worked closely with then-Vice President Biden and the Obama Administration to secure federal grants to rebuild the Port of Virginia, turning years of poor performance and lost revenues into record results, increasing jobs and millions in profits. As new federal COVID-19 relief dollars flow into Virginia, Terry will invest them strategically to jumpstart our economy, ensure families have access to essential resources, and build Virginia back stronger than ever. Terry’s bold plan to secure our economic recovery will create a more equitable post COVID-19 economy that lifts all Virginians.
Since launching his campaign in December, Terry has released big, bold plans to strengthen Virginia’s education system and dramatically increase teacher pay, help secure Virginia’s economic recovery from COVID-19, reform our criminal justice system to create a more equitable Virginia, ensure Virginians have access to regular nutritious meals, address the broken, predatory system of prescription drug pricing, boldly confront the gun violence epidemic, make Virginia the best state in the nation for Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Healthcare (STEM-H) and computer science education, tackle the housing crisis in the Commonwealth and invest in Virginia’s workforce to create a more equitable post-COVID economy, ensure Virginians have access to high-quality, affordable health care, tackle climate change and secure Virginia’s clean energy future by 2035, and lift up Black Virginians as the Commonwealth rebuilds equitably from the COVID-19 pandemic. |
