With the important elections here in the Commonwealth of Virginia this Fall, it’s surprising that there has not been any general election polling conducted for hypothetical matchups between the candidates thus far. CNalysis wants to change that!

Once we reach $5,500, we will be able to collaborate with JMC Analytics, a reliable pollster, to ask 7 hypothetical matchup questions. This poll will also include questions about race, age, gender, party ID, and education.

President Biden Approval
Governor Northam Approval
GOV | Glenn Youngkin vs. Terry McAuliffe
LG | Winsome Sears Sears vs. Sam Rasoul
LG | Winsome Sears vs. Hala Ayala
AG | Jason Miyares vs. Mark Herring
AG | Jason Miyares vs. Jay Jones

If we reach $6,250 by a week after meeting the initial goal, we will be able to ask an additional 3 questions:

House of Delegates Generic Ballot
GOV | Glenn Youngkin vs. Jennifer Carroll Foy
GOV | Glenn Youngkin vs. Jennifer McClellan

At this point 4 years ago, we already had 14 hypothetical matchup polls between Ralph Northam and Ed Gillespie, and 6 hypothetical matchup polls between Tom Perriello and Ed Gillespie. It’s worrisome that this far in the race we haven’t had any polling: Virginia has the most competitive elections this year and will be the first real test of the Biden presidency.
