So, at this point (5/7), in Virginia we’re at 665,332 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 28,820 hospitalizations and 10,874 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went to 938 (+0.1%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 856 (+0.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 49 (+0.2%), which is a slightly slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 83 (+0.3%). Deaths are reported +13 compared to +17 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,140,186 (up 20,262 from yesterday).
