So, at this point (5/6), in Virginia we’re at 664,394 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 28,771 hospitalizations and 10,861 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went to 856 (+0.1%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 842 (+0.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 83 (+0.3%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 52 (+0.2%). Deaths are reported +17 compared to +21 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,119,924 (up 19,840 from yesterday).
