Wednesday (6/9) Virginia Data on COVID-19: Hospitalizations, 10-Day New COVID Cases Near Lowest Points Since Start of Pandemic

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (6/9) in Virginia we’re at 677,210 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 30,050 hospitalizations and 11,260 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was 197 (+0.03%) in the latest statistics, the same rate of increase as yesterday’s 182 (+0.03%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 30 (+0.1%), a slightly slower rate of increase as yesterday’s +59 (+0.2%).  Deaths are reported +7 compared to +8 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,509,089 (up 8,077 from yesterday).
