From Attorney General Mark Herring:
MARK HERRING CALLS ON JASON MIYARES TO WITHDRAW FROM “ELECTION INTEGRITY” EVENT AND STOP THE SPREAD OF MISINFORMATION
“Make no mistake that the January 6th insurrection is a test of moral character and Jason Miyares has failed. He chose Donald Trump over public safety and American democracy.”
RICHMOND, Va. – Today, Mark Herring released a statement calling on Republican opponent Jason Miyares to withdraw from the “Election Integrity” event where he is scheduled to speak.
“Jason Miyares is beholden to the values and policies of Donald Trump and spreading his ‘Big Lie’. I am calling on Jason Miyares to step down from this event and denounce spreading dangerous conspiracy theories that led to the deadly insurrection on January 6th. His vision for Virginia is no different than Donald Trump’s, that Virginians overwhelmingly rejected less than a year ago. Make no mistake that Jason Miyares and his allies want nothing more than to restrict voting access and he has the record to prove that true. The January 6th insurrection is a test of moral character and Jason Miyares has failed. He chose Donald Trump over public safety and American democracy.”
