So, under *Democratic* leadership, Virginia is rockin’ and rollin’…maybe even “rip-roarin’,” eh? 🙂 Check it out:
“We rate all 50 states – 10 categories of competitiveness…This year, in 2021, America’s top state for business is a state that knows how to toot its own horn…We are live in Norfolk at the Port of Virginia; this is America’s top state for business…Here is how Virginia stayed on top…The winner and still champion, Virginia, the Old Dominion, our first ever back-to-back winner…Virginia’s best category – education, with well-performing public schools and great universities, all feeding the third-best workforce in the country. Smart and tech-savvy, leading a comeback…Virginia makes some of its biggest strides in life, health and inclusion, traditionally not its strong suit…the state has expanded voting rights, protected LGBTQ rights and removed Confederate statues…Virginia, America’s top state for business, 2021.”
Great stuff – and again, this is under *Democratic* leadership. Let’s keep it going!

MCLEAN, VA- Terry McAuliffe issued the following statement regarding the release of CNBC’s ranking of Virginia as #1 in its 2021 America’s Top States for Business ranking:
“Virginia is once again the top state in the nation for business and the reasons why are clear: for the past eight years we have fought to create a stronger economy that lifts up everyone and to keep our state open and welcoming to all. Thanks to Governor Northam and our Democratic legislative majority’s leadership, we have emerged from the unprecedented health and economic crises of this pandemic and we are continuing to rebuild stronger than before.
“But my Trump-endorsed opponent Glenn Youngkin’s right-wing agenda would put all of that progress at risk. His focus on divisive social crusades, Trumpian conspiracy theories, and threats to defund our schools would jeopardize our economic progress and take our Commonwealth back. That’s not a recipe for a “rip-roaring economy,” it’s a roadmap to economic chaos and watching businesses flee our state.
“As Virginia’s 72nd Governor, I created a thriving economy and helped Virginia rebuild from the devastating effects of the Great Recession and sequestration. By investing in education and our workforce and keeping our state open and welcoming to all, I created 200,000 good paying jobs, brought in billions in new capital and attracted some of the biggest employers in the country. We did it before and I promise Virginians, as your next governor, we will do it again.”
