See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (7/21) in Virginia we’re at 686,884 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 31,037 hospitalizations and 11,491 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was +678 (+0.10%) in the latest statistics, compared to +721 (+0.11%) yesterday. [NOTE: VDH isn’t updating on the weekends anymore, for whatever reasons…frustrating for keeping an accurate count of the statistics, and also premature given that the pandemic isn’t over!] As for hospitalizations, they went up 18 (+0.06%) compared to +42 (+0.14%) yesterday. Deaths are reported +4 compared to +4 yesterday. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,871,591 (up 8,519 from yesterday).
