New Digital Ad: “Johnny” Features Clarke County Farmer, Johnny Hardesty, Focuses on Terry McAuliffe’s Robust Record on Agriculture
New Ad Follows Clarke County Farmer and Highlights Terry McAuliffe’s Strong Record on Agriculture Industry
MCLEAN, VA – Terry for Virginia released a new ad today featuring Clarke County farmer, Johnny Hardesty, highlighting Terry McAuliffe’s robust record on agriculture. Agriculture and forestry are Virginia’s top private industries and are the backbone of Virginia’s thriving economy. Terry has a record of supporting Virginia’s agriculture industry and as governor, Terry grew Virginia’s agriculture and forestry exports to over $3 billion. Investing in agriculture is investing in people, and Terry will do just that.

Earlier this month, CNBC ranked Virginia as the best state in the U.S. for business for the second time in a row. The reasons are clear: for the past eight years, Terry McAuliffe, Governor Ralph Northam, and Democrats have fought to create a stronger economy that lifts up everyone and keeps our state prosperous and welcoming to all. Terry will make sure that Virginia’s top industry rebuilds stronger than ever by investing in our farmers.

While Glenn Youngkin is busy pushing Donald Trump’s election conspiracies, Terry has released his latest policy plan — Growing Greener Pastures — to lift up Virginia’s agriculture and forestry industries. Terry has proposed 18 policy plans that will grow Virginia’s economy, create good-paying jobs, and keep our Commonwealth moving forward.

TRANSCRIPT

Johnny Hardesty: Well I’m John D Hardesty Jr, and I’m known as Johnny. I grew up here in Clarke County and we’ve been farming here for nine generations now.

Johnny Hardesty: It all starts right here on the farm, and without the people producing it here on the farm we’d have no food, so it all starts right here.

Johnny Hardesty: From day one, Governor McAuliffe was good for agriculture. He promoted us not just in Virginia; he went around the world more than anybody ever has.

Johnny Hardesty: He didn’t look at politics, Democrats and Republicans, he looked at solving the problems for our industry and moving forward.

Johnny Hardesty: Agriculture is still the number one industry in Virginia. It’s a $70 billion industry, 334,000 jobs created through agriculture. The governor helped achieve those numbers we have today.

Johnny Hardesty: From day one he’ll hit the ground running. The governor knows how to put a team together and how to lead them.
