MCLEAN, VA – Terry for Virginia today released a new TV ad, “What It Means,” highlighting Dr. Marie Steinmetz, a Virginia doctor of 37 years who wants to keep Glenn Youngkin and his far right agenda out of her patients’ health care decisions. The ad outlines Glenn Youngkin’s dangerous plan to ban abortion and defund Planned Parenthood – a plan that will harm Virginia women. Dr. Steinmetz, like most Virginians, wants a governor, “who is focused on creating jobs and giving us good schools,” not a far-right candidate whose agenda will hurt Virginia’s families.
This new ad follows the release of another television ad, “Caught,” which outlines Glenn Youngkin’s effort to hide his far right agenda from Virginia voters. The ad shows video footage of Glenn Youngkin promising in his own words to “go on offense” to ban abortion and defund Planned Parenthood if he is elected governor. Youngkin then admits he is trying to hide his out-of-touch agenda from Virginia voters.
Terry has long been a champion of women’s reproductive rights and has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia and NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia. As Virginia’s 72nd Governor, Terry successfully fought back against attempts to close all women’s health clinics in Virginia and kept the clinics open, and he vetoed multiple bills that would have defunded Planned Parenthood. Just as he was before, Terry will always be a “brick wall” to protect access to reproductive health care in the Commonwealth.
