Sierra Club Virginia Chapter Endorses Hala Ayala for Lieutenant Governor
RICHMOND, Virginia — Sierra Club Virginia Chapter today announced its endorsement of Delegate Hala Ayala to serve as the next Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. The organization’s grassroots executive committee leaders have voted to endorse Hala Ayala after considering the candidate’s information, provided via questionnaire response and during an interview with the organization’s political committee.
“In the Virginia state legislature Delegate Ayala has a record of supporting clean energy, addressing climate change, and advancing justice in Virginia. As our next Lt. Governor, we look forward to working with Hala Ayala to continue progress that prioritizes people over polluters’ interests.” said Connor Kish, Legislative and Political Director for Sierra Club Virginia Chapter.
Of the candidates running for the Office of Lieutenant Governor, Hala Ayala was the only candidate that responded to Sierra Club Virginia Chapter’s request to complete a candidate questionnaire and participate in an interview with our political committee.
