See below for the latest COVID-19 statistics for Virginia, courtesy of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). As you can see, total cases hit 1,551,705, up 6,069 since the Monday morning report (the slowest one-day increase since 12/22/21) and up 99,992 over the past 10 days (that’s significantly lower than last Tuesday’s 10-day increase of 140,576); has the Omicron wave finally started to decline? As for hospitalizations, according to VDH, we’re now at a cumulative 47,610, down 98 (data adjustment?) from the Monday morning statistics (also, VHHA now has hospitalizations at 2,924…and on a downward trajectory). And deaths are at 16,252, up 35 from the Monday morning statistics.
