Virginia 10-Day New COVID-19 Cases Down 94% Compared to 1/19; Hospitalizations Down to 166 From ~4,000 in January

New cases creeping up; the 10-day total of 12,223 is the highest since 3/9.

See below for the latest COVID-19 statistics for Virginia, courtesy of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA). As you can see, total cases hit 1,688,068, up 1,207 since the Tuesday morning report and up 12,223 over the past 10 days (waaaayyyy down from the 10-day average of 198,847 on 1/19); the Omicron wave definitely has declined. As for hospitalizations, according to VDH, we’re now at a cumulative 49,612, up 18 from the Tuesday morning statistics (also, VHHA has hospitalizations at 159…around the lowest level since July 2021 and waaaayyyy down from the peak of around 4,000 back in January). And deaths are at 20,099, up 28 from the Tuesday morning statistics.
