Democratic Primary Shaping Up in HD84 Between Del. Nadarius Clark and Computer Scientist/Community Organizer Michele Joyce

It looks like there’s going to be a Democratic primary in the new House of Delegates district 84  (78% Suffolk City, 13% Isle of Wight County, 9% Franklin City; 50.9% McAuliffe, 56.4% Northam). The primary will be between first-term Del. Nadarius Clark – who was “drawn in” with Del. Don Scott in HD88 during the 2021 redistricting process, prompting him to move to HD84 – and Michele Joyce (“computer scientist, community organizer, health-care advocate, mother of two, longtime resident of Isle of Wight County”; see her press release, below). Unless courts order new elections for House of Delegates this year, which is an increasingly unlikely prospect as the clock ticks, the primary will presumably be in June 2023. Stay tuned…
